As things try to return to some semblance of normalcy for the Dodgers, next week is the kick off for the 17th annual “Dodgers Love L.A.” community tour.

The tour takes place Monday the 20th through Tuesday the 28th (yes, 8 full days) and takes active players and alumni all around Los Angeles to give back to the community in a variety of ways.
Monday
On Monday the club and Bank of America will support LA Works’ “MLK Day of Service” in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day. Volunteers will head to Westchester for a beautification project at Orville Wright Middle School. Before the festivities, LA Works will host a breakfast along with community leaders.
Tuesday
Tuesday features two outreach events. In the morning, Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela will spend time with Metro bus drivers, thanking them for their service with a focus on drivers of Dodger Stadium Express transits.
In the evening, Matt Beaty and Alex Verdugo will host a birthday party for children living on skid row along with the non-profit organization “Worthy of Love.”
Wednesday
On Wednesday morning, front office members out of the Dodgers’ Baseball Research and Development Department will host students from the Girls Academic Leadership Acadamy and discuss careers in baseball that involve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In the afternoon, Joc Pederson and Beaty will host this year’s “Dodger Pet Family Photo Day” at West Hollywood Park. Fans interested in attending are encouraged to bring canned dog food and dry cat food which will be donated to PAWS/LA. Fans will receive a Dodger dog t-shirt.
Additionally, Justin Turner will surprise a World War II combat veteran in the LA area.
Thursday
The organization will partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to build playhouses for underserved children. Additionally, along with Project Sunshine, participants will assemble activity kits for young hospital patients.
Friday
On Friday morning, players will host a pep rally at a local high school.
Saturday
The biggest open event of them all, Saturday will the club’s 8th annual FanFest hosted at Dodger Stadium.

The Justin Turner Foundation will host the 5th Annual Justin Turner Golf Classic at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
Tuesday
Finally, Cody Bellinger and more volunteers with visit with members of the LA police department to thank them for their service. Additionally, the NL MVP will go undercover with Postmates to deliver lunch to a high school baseball team and finish up his day at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital to drop off activity kits made during festivities the prior week.
Final Thoughts
After this community tour, the next time players and organization members will get together is when pitchers and catchers report to spring training at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.
