Dodgers: Hyun-Jin Ryu Thanks Fans for Time in Los Angeles

Hyun-Jin Ryu was a beloved piece of the Dodgers since he come over in 2013 and in both 2018 and 2019, his star shined bright. He came very close to winning the Cy Young in 2019 and while his 2018 was cut short with a groin injury, he was a star on the mound.

From his fun-loving bromance with former outfielder Yasiel Puig and his noodle commercials, Ryu was easy to love.

This week, Hyun-Jin Ryu signed a lucrative four-year, $80 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, effectively ending his time in Los Angeles. He loved it and we loved him.

Ryu took to Instagram to thank Dodger fans for their love and support for him throughout his tenure:

“Dodgers fans, thank you for great 7 years supporting me. I had a wonderful time during those years. I will keep those moments in my heart. Happy New Years!”

Ryu will surely be missed in the clubhouse for his humor and certainly will be missed on the field for his excellent performance.

The Blue Jays got a good one and he should light up their clubhouse in Toronto just as he did for seven seasons with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
