Kemp was spotted in San Diego for Winter Meetings, so he his efforts must impressed the Marlins enough to extend him this deal.

At 35 years old, Kemp still has a ways to go to build his value to a major league team. The last time he played in the big leagues, he hit .200/.210/.283 for the Reds after being traded there with Yasiel Puig by the Dodgers. He was released in early May where the Mets signed and then released him him in July.
