Hyun-Jin Ryu is seen as extremely likely to return to the Dodgers by a multitude of reports, but many teams around the league are demonstrating interest in the veteran left-hander. Most recently, the Minnesota Twins have expressed a willingness to meet Ryu’s asking price — Scott Boras’s as well.

The Twins are a younger team that did some damage in the American League Central last year by setting the all-time record for most home runs in a single season. One area of need that remains a roll over from last year, though, is that they need starting pitching.
Jose Berrios is at the top of their rotation and he is only getting better. However, Jake Odorizzi is also a free agent this off-season and Kyle Gibson already agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with Texas — another team linked to Ryu. Now, they really do not have much depth for their rotation.
Ryu would be a great addition and that goes with any team. Another big point with Ryu is that because he is 32 years old, his asking price will be somewhere less than Stephen Strasburg, Gerrit Cole, and Zack Wheeler.
Ryu ended the season as the runner-up for the NL Cy Young Award and posted a 2.32 ERA for the Dodgers in 2019.
