As expected, Andrew Friedman will continue on as the President of Baseball Operations for the Dodgers, according to Jon Heyman.
Dodgers have no known plans to announce baseball president Andrew Friedman’s extension. But he’s extended. And deservedly so. Dodgers will also hire assistant pitching coach (in house likely) and bullpen coach (Josh Bard likely, via @Joelsherman1). Those 2 moves will be announced

According to Heyman, Friedman’s extension has been signed, but it will not be formally announced by the team in the foreseeable future. The organization has always demonstrated a fairly interesting level of secrecy when it comes to the contract of Andrew Friedman, possibly at Friedman’s personal request. When he first agreed to become the Dodgers’ president of baseball operations back in 2015, Friedman’s contract length of five years was known, but his dollar figure went announced for another season.
Friedman has done an excellent job as the PBO of the Dodgers over the past five seasons, helping the Dodgers win the division every season he has been with the team and also taking them to two World Series despite the losses. While he has yet to deliver a World Series, there is no doubt that he is approaching it in the right way regardless of his willingness to sign top tier free agents.
Heyman also reports that Los Angeles will look to hire an assistant pitching coach to pair with Mark Prior, who is taking over for the retired Rick Honeycutt. Moreover, mentions that Josh Bard is expected to return to the club as the bullpen coach, a position he held previously.
This off-season represents arguably the biggest one for Friedman and the Dodgers’ front office brain trust since they all got instated. This off-season will be the one that will allow us to truly determine how effective Friedman is in his role.
Going forward, the Dodgers are in good hands. Eventually, that World Series title will come and it is fairly likely that Friedman will be at the helm when it does come.
