The holiday season is almost here and cities are beginning to make arrangements for their holiday parades and tree lighting ceremonies. For one Southern California city in particular, their holiday parade will be marked by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After learning that he’s healthy and ready to start his workouts again earlier this week, now we learn that Alex Verdugo has more off-season plans on his schedule. According to the city of La Puente, California, the outfielder will be taking the position of Grand Marshal for the city’s annual parade.
Looks like the city of La Puente can look forward to Grand Marshal Dugie! Alex Verdugo will reportedly be part of the city's annual holiday parade and tree lighting ceremony on December 6.

Here is the newsletter La Puente sent out via Facebook on Friday afternoon:
The City of La Puente, in conjunction with the City of Industry Sheriff’s Youth Activites League, is happy to announce that Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player Alex Verdugo has agreed to be the Grand Marshal for the City of La Puente’s Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. “We are excited to have Alex Verdugo be a part of our holiday festivities in La Puente” said City of La Puente Mayor Valerie Munoz, “and see the spirit of the seasons alive and well amongst our community members.”
The Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony is a long standing La Puente tradition that showcases the city’s Downtown area while celebrating the spirit of the holiday season. This year’s parade is scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2019 with step off at 6:30pm.
The city of La Puente is about 20 miles and a 40-minute drive away from Dodger Stadium heading in the southeast direction. It is basically a straight shot from the 110 to the 10 to the 605 freeway. Not too far of a drive to potentially get pictures or autographs from the Dodgers budding outfielder.
