Dodgers: Casey Sadler Congratulates Nationals World Series with LA Twist

The Washington Nationals are the 2019 World Series champions. We all know who they beat in Game 5 of the NLDS to get there — none other than the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, the fact that the Nationals were the team to end up winning the whole thing is a bit more soothing. If you’re going to lose, you better lose to the best. That is exactly what the Dodgers did.

Dodgers relief pitcher Casey Sadler chimed in on the Washington Nationals Game 7 victory over the Houston Astros.

Sadler is speaking the truth: “If you had to beat us, you might as well win the whole dang thing”. At the end of the day, the Dodgers lost to a team that was capable of not only reaching the World Series, but winning the entire thing — which they did.

The Nationals’ Game 5 victory over the Dodgers still stings and it will for quite some time. You cannot help but wonder if the Dodgers could have won the World Series had they emerged victorious in Game 5 of the NLDS. Maybe. Maybe not. We will never know either way.

This year, the Dodgers were not the ones to hoist the trophy in Houston on Wednesday night, the Nationals were. They deserved it all the way through after the stunning defeat of the Dodgers, the convincing sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals, and the grand finale over the Astros. They took care of business and Casey Sadler acknowledges that.
