Dodgers’ right-handed relief pitcher Casey Sadler along with his wife Marin took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to demonstrate his support for the fight against cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.

While Casey Sadler wears the uncommon jersey number 65, he tweeted about the reason he dons it in the majors:
I’ve been asked about my number #65. This was the number I was given in my debut with the @Pirates in 2014. Since then, I learned through a friend who lives with #cysticfibrosis that #65 is tied to CF. So now, for me and for all of those with CF I wear #65. #65roses

Sadler is dedicated to the fight against cystic fibrosis and has been since he became a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In today’s tweet regarding Sixty Five Apparel, Sadler links the website in which you can purchase apparel in support of the cause. The founder of Sixty Five Apparel is Taylor Stroop, someone who deals with cystic fibrosis and is dedicated to the cause, as well.
It is pretty amazing that this is a cause Sadler feels so strongly about in conjunction with the number on his back. The reason the number 65 is synonymous with cystic fibrosis is because in 1965, a four-year old child called his disease “65 Roses”. Since then, the number and phrase have become something of a point of hope for those who suffer from the disease.
You can support the cause as well by purchasing from Sixty Five Apparel or donating to them directly.
