Dodgers Reportedly Pursuing Indians’ Shortstop Francisco Lindor

According to Jon Paul Morosi of MLB.com, the Dodgers are expected to demonstrate interest in Cleveland Indians stud shortstop Francisco Lindor. This looks as if it might be the first big piece of news regarding the Dodgers in the rumor mill as the off-season approaches.

Whew. This is some big news. Even if it does not come into fruition, the idea that Morosi’s sources have linked the Dodgers to Lindor might imply that the Dodgers mean business this off-season.

According to Morosi, the Dodgers are planning on being more willing spenders, however we have heard this song before. Could this really be the off-season? One baseball pundit doesn’t think so, but Morosi and his sources seem to believe so.

With an acquisition of Lindor, a ripple effect occurs on the entire roster. There is no real known price tag on Lindor because a trade for a player of his caliber is almost unprecedented at his age.

Corey Seager would seem to be an obvious piece heading back to Cleveland in a deal of this nature considering he would be displaced at shortstop. The Dodgers would then potentially be in the business of fielding an infield of Max Muncy, Gavin Lux, Francisco Lindor, and Justin Turner.

However, do not get too excited. This is the Dodgers. We will see what they decide to do in the end, but Cleveland’s price tag might be way too high to get a deal like this done. Let’s wait on it and hope for the best. This will be the first of many rumors to swirl this winter.
