Dodgers: Jaime Jarrín Visits LAFC, Talks Ecuadorian Heritage

The Spanish voice of the Dodgers, Jaime Jarrín, met up with Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) on Wednesday afternoon to hang out with the players and took a very keen interest in one player in particular. Jarrín was born in Quito, Ecuador and left back Diego Palacios is from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Jarrín on Ecuadorians in LA

Jaime Jarrín told LAFC that he has always been an advocate for Ecuadorians to come and play in Los Angeles, as he has enjoyed his own success here.

“I met Diego [Palacios] and it is very special to me. I am in the business of sports. I have always been trying to get some Ecuadorians to play here in the United States. We do not have any Ecuadorians in baseball, but we have now an Ecuadorian playing here in Los Angeles. It is wonderful that I met Diego and he seems to be very happy here.”

Jarrín, what a legend.

Wishing LAFC Well

Jarrín also wished the Los Angeles Football Club well in their season as they try to cement themselves as the primary soccer team in Los Angeles.

“I look forward to seeing Diego [Palacios] on the field, playing well. They are working to be the team of Los Angeles and while we have the galaxy, I have a very special place in my heart. I wish the team the best. I know they are becoming the team of LA.”
