Dodgers News: Jaime Schultz Remains With Organization

When the Dodgers needed a roster spot to activate Rich Hill from the 60-day injured list last week, reliever Jamie Schultz unfortunately drew the short straw and was designated for assignment.

After going through and clearing the waiver process, he remained with the organization and was outrighted to triple-A Oklahoma City.

The right hander spent most of his 2019 season with OKC, compiling a 5.85 ERA and 4 saves in 47 games. With Los Angeles, his ERA was an unsightly 7.20 in only 5 innings. However, all 4 runs he surrendered were in a July 28th outing against Washington.

Schultz, 28, served 2 tours of duty with the big club in 2019. Overall in his big league career, he’s appeared in 26 games while posting a 5.86 ERA between Tampa Bay and LA.

Chances are that he walks as a minor league free agent in the off-season and signs with another club. He adequately served his purpose as a depth arm for when the Dodger relief core was stretched thin.
