Former Dodger Charlie Culberson Hit in Face By Pitch

Atlanta Braves utility player Charlie Culberson was drilled in the face by a 91mph fastball on a bunt attempt in the Nation’s capital.

The former Dodger squared around to bunt but missed the ball completely and took it directly on the right cheek area. The home plate umpire quickly motioned to the Braves dugout as the training staff came rushing onto the field to tend to Culberson.

After staying down for some time — long enough for his manager Brian Snitiker to get ejected from the game for arguing the fact that the HBP was called a strike…

… Culberson eventually was able to get up under his own power and was carted off the field to go for further examination. Thankfully, the infielder gave a thumbs up on his way off the field.

Charlie remains beloved in Los Angeles and Dodgers Nation wishes him the best in his recovery.
