When Rich Hill left his return start with a knee injury on Thursday night in Baltimore, initial fears were that he may be done for the season. However, Rich is notoriously a stubborn player and is already trying to expedite his recovery and get back on the mound.
Rich Hill threw on flat ground today with a knee brace and found an adjustment with his foot placement doesn’t provoke pain in his knee. He’s determined to pitch again this season. He plans on throwing again tomorrow.

He had been pitching with a knee brace for most of the early part of the season after suffering a similar injury in spring training in March. The plan for Hill is still to undergo an MRI exam once the team is back home in Los Angeles on Monday. Moreover, him testing various foot placements could show that he might not care very much about the results of the exam.
Hill said he’ll still undergo the MRI exam Monday. If it shows a similar or less severe injury than the one he had in spring training, he wants to see if he can make it work with the mechanical adjustment.
