The Milwaukee Brewers are trailing the Cubs by just a a few games for the second National League Wild Card Spot when they suffered the biggest blow a team can suffer at this point of the season.
Reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich hit a pitch off his right knee cap and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a fractured knee cap.

The play occured in the top of the 1st inning vs. the Marlins where Yelich fouled off an inside pitch off his right knee. Yelich was definitely hurt after the play and after a few moments to collect himself, was able to limp off the field with the training staff.

Yelich has been neck and neck with Cody Bellinger in the MVP race all season, enough where MLB came out with a whole campaign behind their budding rivalry. Yelich ends the season:
- .330 BA
- .430 OBS
- .672 Slugging
- 44 Home Runs
- 97 RBIs
- 7.7 WAR
We’re sad to see this injury for one of the game’s brightest stars and wish him a speedy recovery.
