Greatest Home Run Catch by a Fan in Dodger Stadium History

Every baseball fan has dreamt of the day that they get the chance to catch a ball at the stadium. Over the last couple of years, we have seen some incredible fan catches. A personal favoite for me is fans holding their babies and making the one-handed grab. There is also the classic “catch it in your beer and chug what’s left” catch. But on Tuesday night, Dodger Stadium witnessed perhaps one of the all-time greatest catches in the team’s history.

Ankit Shah, a noted Giants fan, snagged a home run hit by Nolan Arenado in the most brilliant style possible.

Shah made the leaping grab in the 4th inning of a close game and landed on his back on the tarped bleachers acting as a batters eye. It was the catch heard all around social media, as several teams tweeted and posted the catch out. Even the Oakland Raiders recognized Ankit’s amazing catch, thanks in part to the fact he was wearing a Raiders’ shirt.

Luckily for us, the hosts of our Blue Heaven Podcast know Ankit! Clint, Brook, and Ankit all play together on a softball team Wednesday nights, and they sat down with him for an interview after their game last night. Check out the interview below.
