Russell Westbrook Makes History in Clippers vs. Kings Game

LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is moving up the NBA’s all-time steals list

Russell Westbrook had his best game as a member of the LA Clippers on Friday night vs. the Sacramento Kings. In a game the Clippers were without Kawhi Leonard, Norman Powell, Marcus Morris, and Ivica Zubac, Westbrook finished with 27 points, 10 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

With his one steal, Westbrook passed Shawn Marion for sole possession of 20th place on the NBA’s all-time steals list. Already 10th all-time in assists, Westbrook its now top-20 in steals as well. His list of career achievements is incredible, and he will continue climbing up statistical rankings as he continues his Hall-of-Fame career.

While the Clippers are winless in the Russell Westbrook era, the veteran point guard has actually played great for the Clippers. With the exception of one bad game, Westbrook has been incredibly solid in his time with the Clippers. In his first five games since being traded from the Lakers, bought out by the Jazz, and signed by the Clippers, Westbrook is averaging 16.6 PPG, 8.8 APG, and 3.8 RPG on 53.2% from the field.

Westbrook has done everything the Clippers have asked of him so far, and it is incredibly unfortunate that it has resulted in five losses. The Clippers have fallen to the 8th seed in the Western Conference, and are in danger of missing the playoffs entirely if they don’t find a way to start getting some wins.
