Russell Westbrook is Not Worried About Clippers’ Struggles

Russell Westbrook knows not to panic yet, despite the Clippers being a losing streak.

The LA Clippers are struggling, there’s no other way around it. The team was so close to the 3rd seed just a week ago, and now they’re dangerously close to the play-in tournament after a crushing three-game losing streak. Despite that, Russell Westbrook is not worried about the Clippers’ struggles.

“I’m not one bit worried,” Westbrook said. “We have an unbelievably talented group in this locker room. We know what we have, we just got to make sure we put it together and I really feel we gave three games away thus far. We’re going to get it together.”

The haunting truth so far about the Clippers is that they’ve never really beaten good teams all season. However, they were 2-0 after the trade deadline, and are now 0-3 after the All-Star break.

While Russell Westbrook has been great for the Clippers thus far, his addition has thrown their lineups and rotations into flux. The team is trying to learn entirely new ways to play, and both their starting and closing lineups are a mess. The Clippers are on game 64, but they’re playing like it’s game 4. In 20 games leading into the All-Star break, the Clippers only averaged 10 turnovers a game with Terance Mann in the starting lineup – they’ve now had 62 turnovers in three games. The Clippers don’t know how to play with each other anymore, and only have 18 more games to figure it out, against very difficult teams.
