Patrick Beverley Reveals Hidden Lakers Trade Request Before Bulls Signing

Patrick Beverley had conversations with the Warriors, Clippers, and Bulls

It seems like Patrick Beverley’s departure from the Lakers is a little more complicated than what many initially believed.

On an episode of the Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley revealed that he actually requested a trade from the Lakers before ultimately getting shipped off to Orlando.

“Tell the viewers what really, really, went down in LA,” Beverley said. “I don’t mean cup of tea type of shit, but you know, you know. To some people, it could be that Pat Bev got traded, when all reality I didn’t like what was going on and let’s find a better home for me. Not so, that he ain’t good enough let’s get rid of him. All that shit was my decision. So, you gotta think, I’m making the decision, it was my decision, they honored my request, but at the same time, I’m sitting here without a home.”

It’s a very interesting statement from Patrick Beverley. After his trade, Beverley had an interest in joining the LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors, and Chicago Bulls. The Clippers ultimately went with Russell Westbrook, and then Beverley chose the Chicago Bulls over the Warriors because he wanted to return home.

This isn’t the first time Beverley said the vibes were off with the Lakers, but hopefully, it won’t be the last. There’s definitely a story to be told there.
