Paul George Reacts to Bones Hyland, Mason Plumlee, and Eric Gordon’s Clippers Debut

LA Clippers star Paul George likes his new teammates

Bones Hyland, Mason Plumlee, and Eric Gordon all played their first game with the LA Clippers since being dealt at the trade deadline, and the new bench trio helped secure a win against the shorthanded Golden State Warriors.

When asked after the game about his new teammates, Clippers star Paul George said, “I thought they looked great, it looked like they had chemistry. They’re pros, they came in on short notice and got the plays down, and I just thought they looked good together. They played with great energy and that second unit has some juice to it.”

With both Reggie Jackson and John Wall being traded away at the deadline, Paul George has been given more point guard duties. When asked about this after Tuesday night’s game, George said, “It’s an ongoing process. I think the biggest thing is to just slow down and continue to read the defense and see how they’re guarding and how they’re reacting. I think that’s been the biggest key over the course of the season. Being a student of how the defense is guarding me, and being able to use my ability to get guys open. Everybody shoots the ball great, so if I could get them a good look, the assists have been going in favor for me.”

The Clippers will play one final game in Phoenix on Thursday night before entering the All-Star break.
