Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is now the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Tuesday night’s game vs. the OKC Thunder. After a game vs. the Lakers on January 24th, LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was asked about James breaking the record, and shared his detailed thoughts on the accomplishment.

“I didn’t think of it too much until he’s gotten closer and closer,” Leonard said after the Clippers defeated the Lakers in late January. “But yeah. He’s a one-of-one talent right there. I mean, you see it for yourself, the way he’s playing at this age. Definitely inspirational for everyone, just to sustain that energy and that mindset to play that long and still wanting to go out and contribute with this effort. So yeah, like I say, he’s an inspiration for everyone.”

Leonard and James have had some great battles over the years, including two matchups in the NBA Finals. There is a lot of mutual respect between the two players, and that was displayed by Leonard after their matchup a few weeks ago. It was a dominant showing for James in that one, who finished with a career-high nine threes, while also checking the Clippers off the list as the final team he needed to score at least 40 points against.

Now the all-time leading scorer, LeBron James has the NBA world talking about his greatness once again.
