Clippers News: Joakim Noah, Clips Agree To Contract Through Next Season

Looks Joakim Noah is going to be spending more time with the Clippers now since they just offered the free-agent center a non-guaranteed contract to play through the 2020-21 season as well. This should be interesting.

On June 20th, Noah had come to terms with the Clips for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. He was originally signed to a 10-day contract on March 9th, but due to the pandemic, he never suited up in a single game for the Clips.

Noah is a great backup in case starting center Ivica Zubac gets injured. Last time Noah played was in 2018-19 for the Memphis Grizzlies were he averaged 7.1 points per game and 5.7 rebounds in just 16.5 minutes per game.

When the season resumes on July 30th, Noah will be available for the remaining 8 games plus the playoffs that come right after.

Originally Noah was being looked at by the Los Angeles Lakers, and even gave him an interview and tryout, but in a twist of fate, the Lakers decided to sign veteran Dwight Howard instead.

Let’s see how Noah can help the Clips in the remaining games as well as the playoffs. Noah can be a great piece of the puzzle if the Clips want to mix and match their rotation against their opponents.
