Former Chargers and Detroit Lions running back Justin Jackson has officially declared his retirement from the NFL. The announcement was made by the Lions on a Thursday morning.
Selected by the Chargers as the 251st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Jackson’s journey in the league spanned several seasons.
During his tenure with the Chargers, spanning four seasons, Jackson played a total of 43 games and secured seven starts. His primary role involved backing up notable running backs Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler.
Throughout his time with the Bolts, Jackson recorded 206 rushing attempts, amassing a total of 1040 yards. His contributions extended to scoring four touchdowns and achieving an impressive five yards per rushing attempt. Jackson consistently delivered solid performances, making a valuable impact whenever he stepped onto the field for the Chargers.
