Dodgers News: Cody Bellinger Underwent Right Shoulder Surgery

While the Dodgers outlasted every team in the playoffs and ultimately became the 2020 World Series Champions, they didn’t do so without some bumps in the road. The team had a handful of players that weren’t their typical selves.  One of those players was the former 2019 NL MVP, Cody Bellinger.  The star outfielder could never really find a lasting groove this past season at the plate but showed flashes of his talent every now and then. Take his go-ahead home run in Game 7 of the NLC against the Atlanta Braves.

It was after that very home run that Cody gave us all a scare when he separated his shoulder while celebrating with Kiké Hernandez. While he proved that he was still able to play after having his right shoulder pop out, it was reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan that the 25-year old underwent surgery to repair it.

He also reported that Bellinger will take around 10 weeks to heal from the surgery, so it shouldn’t worry Dodger fans too much. He’ll be back in time to work out with the team at Camelback Ranch in Spring Training. That’s good news to hear as a healthy Cody will be counted on to help the Dodgers defend their title and prove to the baseball world that they can win in any length season. We hope you have a speedy recovery Belli!
