The Dodgers recently agreed to terms with left-hander Alex Wood on a one-year deal to put him back in Dodger blue. Wood was a member of the 2017 club that lost to the cheating Houston Astros in the World Series. He was a key factor in that series, at one point throwing a five inning no hitter. He was then traded to the Cincinnati Reds in the off-season. However, he is now proving to be a welcome addition to the 2020 club.
With all of the allegations and the eventual conviction of cheating by Major League Baseball against the Houston Astros, Alex Wood took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the matter.
AMEN!!! The fact that there hasn’t been any consequences to any players up to this point is wild. https://t.co/zjgsJuuQlK

Wood quoted a tweet from Cody Bellinger where Bellinger expresses his distaste for some of the Astros’ players and their integrity inside of the league.
It is good to hear some of the Dodgers speak out and watch their refusal to be silenced take place on Twitter in real time. Wood also had his own personal thoughts:
I would rather face a player that was taking steroids than face a player that knew every pitch that was coming.

That makes total sense. What the Astros did goes beyond steroids and it appears that the final outcome has yet to even be seen. There are now allegations against Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman for wearing buzzing devices during games to aid in sign stealing. It doesn’t stop, folks.
